Introduction to Turkey

Why Turkey?
Many people discovering enchanting Turkey for the first time are simply stunned with its immense beauty; it is a welcoming land  boasting wonderful scenery and it has amazing diversity; breathtaking coastline, mountains rivers and serene picturesque countryside with ancient cities that are rich in historic heritage.
Often dubbed as the "new Spain" due to its growing popularity this fascinating country is certainly "full of eastern promise"!

Great weather, fabulous food and a very high standard of service is the attraction for many International buyers who are arriving in droves, for this beautiful country has all of the ingredients second home buyers have come to expect!
A wide choice of property both new and resale is available and the future opportunity for capital growth and rental return is clear; currently the prices are most affordable especially when compared to other more established European destinations and the propects are seemingly endless.

The country is exotic and welcoming plus the infrastructure is also good; good quality roads and a wide choice of international airports. In addition, the range of facilities and amenities, from water sports to Ikea, is nothing less than phenomenal. As to golfing in the south along the Mediterranean Belek is building golf resorts at an unprecedented rate that would not look out of place if they were in Florida!

The cost of living in Turkey is also extremely reasonable – perhaps 30 to 50 per cent cheaper than the UK and overall this country has much to offer the property buyers – be it for investment, retirement or just a holiday home.

Popular buying locations
People considering a property purchase in Turkey tend to look in three main areas: Istanbul, the Aegean and Mediterranean coast. Although not the capital, Istanbul is the cultural heart of Turkey and offers a cosmopolitan lifestyle. Having said that, not many foreigners tend to buy here compared to the coastal resorts; buy-to-let opportunities are available as the population is huge.

The Aegean coast comprises Cesme, Kusadasi, Altinkum and Bodrum. The diversity in just this region is overwhelming – no matter what you are after you will find it on the Aegean. From quaint fishing villages to busting towns, this is an area that has something for everyone, with beaches, history and a huge selection of bars and restaurants.

The Mediterranean coast ranges from Maramis in the east through to Antalya, Side and Alanya in the west. This huge stretch of coastline is serviced by Turkey's second largest airport in Antalya and it is fast becoming the most popular tourist destination among European and British visitors alike for there are many direct flights. The region enjoys long hot summers and a promise of snow within the mountain range during the winter .Like most of Turkey many fine Roman monuments are to be found for this is a truly historic region; Aspendos amphitheatre is a fine example of a well preserved building that still plays host to regular theatre and music performances, whereas the fine ruins in Side peninsular is where Cleopatra held a romantic tryst with her lover Mark Anthony.Championship golf courses along this fine coast make this a truly modern destination.
